#125 VALCKHOFF IN NYMWEGEN – Attributed to Jan Van Goyan. Van Goyan lived from 1596 to 1656 in Holland. His art focused on local subjects and utilized a tonal palette. This was to become known as the Golden age of Dutch landscape painting. This piece is a perfect example. Signature is found in the boat in the foreground with the initials V.G. and a date of 1644.
