#117 MAMMOTH LAKES - Carl Schmidt was born in Minnesota in 1885 and died in San Bernardino, CA in 1969. Schmidt was a painter and muralist. His specialty was desert landscapes. He came to California in 1924 and took on an immediate love of his new surroundings. Oil on canvas, excellent condition, signed lower right, original 1920’s frame. Title on reverse Upper Lakes.
