#116 INDIAN SUNSET - Henry Raschen was born in German in 1854. At the tender age of 14 he began to study art at the San Francisco Art Academy. He was a very important California pointer during the late 1800’s specializing in Indian paintings based on sketching trips throughout the west. This piece captures the incredible southwest sunrise (or sun set). He died in California in 1937. Oil on canvas, excellent condition signed lower right.
